I have been venturing into the world of the potato diet recently. It's brought me here because I decided I should share my experience. It's been 4 days and I have to admit I was wrong in the belief that potatoes make you gain weight.
The rules I have is no fruits (which was the hardest for me) and no meat/oil.
I don't eat meats/eggs/cheese so that was easy.
Morning, lunch, and dinner was focused on potatoes. I can have any seasoning & saracha! with veg.
The experience has been really great! I still exercised and feel fine. My gut issues dissappeared which was the main reason why I decided to go on this diet anyhow. Food no longer come back up after eaten 20 minutes later. This was a common issue that I was experiencing. I didn't know why but it was an occurrence everyday regardless what I was eating (even rice). I didn't cook with oils so it wasn't even though I was eating unhealthy. My diet was mainly veg and loads of fruits!
Except now on the potatoes diet, it all stopped. I have also started to question myself if I'm really hungry or not when I crave food. If I'm not hungry enough to eat a cold potato then I'm not hungry. (Did I tell you I start to eat cold potatoes as well. I prefer them that way in fact without anything. Just plain).
I really am enjoying it. I have decide to incorporate more potatoes in my diet. I hope you decide to try this out. My weight hadn't changed either and I sleep better.
